Subscribing to lemmy.ml communities from other instances gives "Subscribe Pending" button upon second click of "Subscribe" button

3 years ago by GuyDudeman to c/lemmy_support

Hi there... I'm not sure if this is just because lemmy.ml is overloaded right now or what, but if I'm on a different instance and I want to subscribe to a community that lives on lemmy.ml, then when I hit the "subscribe" button, nothing happens. When I hit it again, it gives me this yellow "subscribe pending" button:

Is there a queue that the request goes into on the parent instance or something? Or do I just have to wait until traffic dies down to subscribe?

I'm seeing the same problem.

No I think It's bug but they're already working on it... It's just an UI bug however: if you check your feed it should be like you're already subscribed

Same issue here now for days. Tried the unsubscribe -> subscribe again workaround about a hundred times now without success. Only seems to happen on lemmy.ml, not others.

That instance has reported major slow down over the past few days

Same issue here. I already made a post about it on my instance, too. At first, I was sure that it was a configuration issue on my instance, but I just discovered that it works fine when subscribing to Communities on lemmy.world and other instances.
