Or, if we’re successful with these federated initiatives, 2023 will be known as The Year of Deshitification of the Web.
In an ideal world, the platform will both stabilize and simplify, at least from a user-facing perspective, to the point that the average Reddit user can both figure it out and use it reliably, without getting the infinite-thinking bug when they try to post stuff.
I'm still not 100% sure I've figured out how to access federated instances that aren't the one my account is on. I think so, but I'm kinda wandering around a dark room and bumping into tables and stuff at the moment.
And beehaw.org chose to defederate with lemmy.world and others. Besides that, mod tools for Lemmy are still rudimentary so everything is a little bit messy right now. I think that this federation thing is great but I just wanted Mastodon and Lemmy to have a "prefered" or default instance where it wouldn't confuse the "noobs".
Wait... If beehaw defederated from lemmy.world, how am I both reading and replying in one of it's communities?
Imagine watching the absolute shitstorm Twitter has been going through and thinking yeah I want that for my website. Sounds like there's no hope for reddit unless someone else can take control from spez. What is it about these obviously inept morons like Elon or Trump that get these followers that think they are the smartest person on earth?
I'm convinced it's the brain rot from the gas stoves they love so much and the lead in their toys and pipes.
I’m trying to reconcile ‘great idea’ and ‘we didn’t pay our rent and now we’re being evicted’. Oh and also, a cleaning company in Boulder is suing Twitter for unpaid bills ($100k).
"BuT tHaTs gOoD BuSiNeSs!" -spez, probably.
He's literally praising the guy who decided that locks that disengaged when a building is on fire are "too expensive" to install on a building full of his own employees.
Sure shows who he is as a leader.
The older I get and the more history I read, the more everything seems to be one giant shitty circle.
Yeah so he praises the guy who said fire safe locks are "too expensive" to use in buildings full of his employees. Really great, very stable genius.
He praises the guy who stopped paying rent for Twitter offices as a "savings measure," says Twitter would pay rent "over his dead body," says this is part of his "zero expense" strategy, and is now obviously getting dragged into court and evicted from these spaces.
Billionaires, man. They just shouldn't exist.
And people are looking up to these guys and praising them for how clever and smart they are.
I can digg it.
Holy fuck, they could not get it more wrong. Sadly i watched the video ( which i presume was on TV ). " they are protesting because they dont like change ", what the fuck man, litterally 5 seconds of research and you can find why does it happen. That how you divide commiunities, because someone who is pretty lazy to do the reasearch will conclude that mods are the bad guys and litteraly protest againist the protest... Once again journalism at its finest...
thanks for using Leebra!
