As a supporter of Palestine and their right to exist, their own state and to defend themselves I stop short of support for what happened that day. I understand how it got there and Israel's role in oct 7th but it cant be condoned.

I mean, we can all agree that Israel are no saints, but anyone who supports Hamas or downplay the way they operate are in my opinion either stupid or ignorant or both OR they have no fucking morals and should stop pretending to ride around on that high horse when they cry about dead Palestinians.
Yes, Israel are fucking horrible for killing civilians, but Hamas are the ones who uses the civilians as meat shields. If Hamas played by the war handbook, there would not have been this many dead civilians. At the very least Israel gives out warnings for civilians to evacuate and area before they bomb it while Hamas build their entire base of operations right in the middle of where little kids are playing.
I don't fucking want to defend Israel, but I want idiots who support hamas to understand what the fuck it is they are supporting. And if they still support Hamas after that, then they might as well support Israel too. They both have Palestinian blood on their hands. Ffs. Why does this conflict always attract the dumbest people among us? It's like the war version of all those antivaxxers that popped up under covid.

An anecdote I've shared before a time or two on my lemm.ee account was that I almost quit Lemmy specifically because of how insufferable the Hexbears were.
I can't speak to whether keeping me around was good, but I genuinely only remained because I learned how to block the instance.

You can make assumptions if you'd like, but I was ramping up posting well before I took up this fight. I was ramping up towards the tail end of Reddit before the whole API debacle even. And I've always been a fairly heavy commenter. And actually Lemmy does have a way of making me want to post and not just comment.
So no, I won't be disappearing, if you really care to know. I've got other non-Tankie related plans in the works to further the Lemmy-verse based on my own goals and desires like even spinning up my own public instance.
