That was my first thought. I'd need more proof before believing this. Perhaps it has happened at least once in one of the millions of schools, but as a general policy across the country? Highly unlikely.
They might value education more than the US and can be strict, but they aren't as draconian as the west seems to believe.

Wow. With ADHD this is a death sentence. Not because they will kill you necessarily, but because this would set an hostile environment where the person has no control over what is required of them and will be punished in a way that feels arbitrary to them. This cal lead to depression, and suicide.

Anything that goes from 8 AM to 10 PM is over the top. Back when I went to school, they'd always say "we're preparing you for the world", but now you gotta wonder what prepares you for school, cuz nothing improves the working class like spinal stress and PTSD that gets triggered whenever you encounter authorities.
Don't look at teacher while class is in session.
