Makes me wonder if these versions are going to have any advantages over just emulating the originals, and MGS1 and 2 even had official PC releases with fan mods to patch them.

There are some pressure sensitive controls in, at least, MGS3 that relied on the dualshock's capabilities. I assume there will be adjustments to that. It was a barrier when I tried to emulate it.
You mean for the sticks or triggers? Steam Input has features to emulate that on most controllers I believe.
I think it was the triggers. There are definitely ways to make steam gear work. I didn't mess with it too long, because I was just experimenting with steam deck emulation to see what would run.
Buttons, DualShock 2 and 3 had pressure sensitive buttons
It could be possible to make a different controller profile for those sections, switch the pressure controls to the triggers maybe?
Absolutely, I just didn't mess with it too long, because I just wanted to see if it would run on the steam deck.
Strange. The links aren't working right now. Home page, and cant search for the games.
Praying it's a clerical error and not Sony or Epic swooping in with a mountain of cash...
Please for the love of Big Boss I only ask that we get the Subsistence camera angles and that the pressure control shenanigans have been solved in a good way.
Oh really? Nice, that gives me some hope. Do you know if they just mapped the pressure sensitive actions to the triggers or something like that?
I wish MGS4 would get a remaster, or even a (good) port. I use a version of RPCS3 setup specifically for MGS4 and it's still pretty bad, getting low to mid 20s FPS.
Granted, I haven't looked into emulation at a lower level, so I could probably get better performance if I knew what to change. /shrug
I still have the trilogy collection on PS3. I wonder if the new version will have improved textures or anything like that.
thanks for using Leebra!
