Why was c/fauxbait deleted?

7 months ago by StaticRebirth to c/askfedinsfw

So one person on an instance with 25 users kicks up a very controversial fuss, gets told why they're wrong dozens of times in the comments and downvoted pretty heavily for their stupid opinion, but then you delete the community anyway?

Weak.

I think it's a case of "the worst person you know made a good point".

c/fauxbait was not a good name.

I assume the content was legal, so if we could keep the comm but rename it to something less unnecessarily controversial, I'd have preferred that.

But you can't rename comms (AFAIK), so deleting it and maybe bringing it back with a better name after the bad faith ragebaiters go away is a good call.

I don't have an account on your instance, but I enjoy seeing the content posted on many of the communities you host. If the removal of single controversial community was required to keep other servers from defederating with fedinsfw, then I support the decision. Sometimes we gotta choose wisely what hills to die on and what not.
