Lol "debates" aren't just dead, but fucking rotting. I don't mind having a good-faith discussion with someone who disagrees with me; in fact I love it. But internet, and even public debates are so extremely over. Say what you will about Vaush, but he's completely right about that. Debating someone in modern times, especially people on the conservative side of things, is like boxing an amorphous blob; they hold no solid beliefs or opinions and don't care about truth in the slightest.
"Never argue with an idiot; they'll pull you down to their level and beat you with experience" or if you prefer the more classical form tailored to debate: "never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference"
