Challenger with same name as Alaska US Sen. Dan Sullivan files challenge to stay on ballot

A man with the same name and party affiliation as Alaska Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan has challenged a decision by a top state elections official to disqualify his candidacy and remove him from the August primary ballot.

A man with the same name and party affiliation as Alaska Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan on Monday challenged a decision by a top state elections official to disqualify his candidacy and remove him from the August primary ballot.

A court filing on behalf of the challenger Sullivan by his attorneys said the decision by the Division of Elections Director Carol Beecher disqualifying him violates state and federal law. It asks that he be placed on the ballot. Sullivan has maintained that he’s a qualified candidate for U.S. Senate and that election officials lacked a legal basis to boot him from the ballot.

His entrance into the race, days before the June 1 filing deadline, drew condemnation from Sen. Sullivan and the National Republican Senatorial Committee. They called the challenger a sham candidate and alleged he was working with Democrats to boost Democratic former U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola’s chances in the race. Peltola’s campaign and state Democrats have denied the allegation, as did the challenger.

Sen. Sullivan and Peltola are the highest-profile contenders in a race with more than a dozen candidates. It’s one of the most prominent U.S. Senate races in this year’s midterm elections — one both parties consider crucial to their efforts to control the chamber.

On June 15, a week after Republican Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom announced an investigation into the challenger Sullivan’s run, Beecher disqualified him. She concluded that his declaration of candidacy “was not filed in order to declare an actual good-faith candidacy for the office of United States Senator, but was instead filed with a purpose to confuse or mislead and to thereby compromise the ballot’s fairness or neutrality.”

I'm hoping this is on the level and we're getting better at seeing the shenanigans. Because when a Repub does it, we used to wait until AFTER the elections are decided to do anything: https://www.orlandosentinel.com/...

  1. They're both Republicans
  2. You're seriously both sides-ing the GOP and DNC in terms of genocide?

I do recall the establishment DNC supporting Israel, but I also recall the DNC hosting the only active block of anti-zionists in any significant position of power.

I also don't recall the DNC opening vast amounts of concentration camps and mass kidnapping brown people on such a scale while also using SCOTUS to completely dismantle basic human rights on an unprecedented scale.

I don't recall the DNC massacring brown fishermen under the guise of fighting a made up category, "narco-terrorism".

I also certainly don't recall Israel invading and committing genocide in the West Bank or Lebanon under Obama or Biden to nearly the scale they are now.

I also certainly can't recall Israel using pedophile blackmail against a DNC president to start and bring in the US to a genocidal war with Iran that's threatening the global economy and the water supply for 90% of people in the Arabian peninsula.

Oh, and do tell me about when the DNC mass cut USAID and withdrew the US from the WHO, killing countless thousands of people in the Global South in the process. Because I k ow when the GOP did that, I can't recall when the DNC did that.

There's plenty more I can go over if you wanna do this moronic 2016 bullshit. Or you can ask any of the groups you pretend to care about how their lives under the GOP are compared to how they were under the DNC.
