Trans people are trans regardless of any of this sentiment. That's not the same as "not wanting to associate with your own gender". Sorry if you weren't trying to imply that. That's just kinda what it came across as. Trans is like the rest of the lgbtq+ in that it's not a choice. How one handles it is, but not the being.
I like a lot of what you said though. The first few times I heard this sentiment towards men I didn't fully understand it. I actually was somewhat offended even, because neither I nor any man in my life would do such a horrific act as rape and in fact proudly support the women in our lives. So it took me time to understand it wasn't directed at me per se and more that other men had made these women saying these things feel so unsafe, that no man felt completely safe to them.
Kinda breaks my heart a little truthfully. But I just leave them alone and tell others too if I know. We are not entitled to someone else's time or attention, so if you belong to a group they are averse to, just leave them be unless they ask you for something or give you permission into their space. And leave when they don't want you there further. Just like you should do with anyone.
Anyways the sentiment isn't ruining kids, it's probably leading to more discussions on why some women feel like this. The Internet likes to act like a solitary person with a solitary statement will determine the instant and exact course of a person's life but people aren't generally that simple.
What this did to me, because I have a pretty simillar (although not as hyperbolic) experience growing up on the internet, are mostly positive things.
It made me aware of the problem and how important it is, and in general made me a lot better person. Sure, it made me a lot more anxious and overly careful, to the point where I was briefly considering myself asexual due to how disgusted I was with archetypal male behavior, but that eventually stabilized and I'm left with healty respect and caution when dealing with women. And it was definitely a small price to pay compared to what women have to deal with.
I've once read a blog about how uterrly fucked up it is to make a dating site profile as a woman, so I tried that myself. It was the most vile shit and behaivor I've seen from people, and a really eye-openning experience, which is what radicalized me.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the typical alpha male stereptype is (for a small amount of younger people) what may consider people going trans. I was disgusted with the toxic masculinity part of my gender to the point of actually not wanting to be male. Which is a natural reaction, not wanting to associate with dicks, and I don't see it as a problem - or rather, the problem is the existence of predators like that. People hating it (as the op suggests) is not the problem, the predators are. It's not woke that is turning young people trans, it's the (for a small part of people, mind you, not saying that's the only reason, and it's just anectodal to what happened to me) toxickly mascular alpha male idiots that are making people not wanting to associate with their gender, which they glorify while doing the most vile shit imaginable.
But, it made me a lot better person, so I'm happy for it. It also made me focus on platonical relationships only for a long time, and I have the best friends I could ask for thanks to that.
