Hates dogs. Wife gets dog against his will. Kid gets cancer. Blames cancer on the dog. Doubles down on blaming the dog, despite what anybody (including kid's doctor) says. Kills/gets rid of dog. Wife leaves him and takes kid. Dedicates life to warning others about the hazard he thinks ruined his life.

Technically transmissible cancer is a thing, and does affect dogs but I'm pretty sure this guy is getting some details wrong, like it being able to infect other species
human cancer transmission is rare.[2] This transfer is typically between members of the same species or closely related species.[3]
