Excuse the shitty emojis, this is a post about scented products!
So perfumes, fragrance, cologne, deodorant, body wash, soap, lotions, potions, lip balm, make-up....anything you apply to yourself because it smells good and makes you happy, but also what products make you you gag?
For me Palmers cocoa butter and coconut oils smell amazing, but I can find a bit too much sometimes, and have to restrict my use
Perfumes, I have too many to list, but I love some not all florals, woody, spicy, dirty musk, boozy and amber notes. I'm a sucker for jasmine, patchouli and earthy scents
Also scented soap, I'm quite partial to The Highland Soap Company products as they do wild raspberry, seaweed and heather which smell fab
Tom Fords Tuscan Leather perfume makes me nauseous, after I wore it once while exercising
I'm also not keen scented deodorants, because they interfere with any perfumes I want to wear, and also they're too 'clean' and 'pretty'
What are your favourite and most reviled scented products?
I guess this is something that is very regional but the use of perfumes is not really considered acceptable in most public settings where I live. Most workplaces are scent free, for example.
Not that I don't enjoy scented products that don't linger! I tend to ecylypus, citrus or lavender for body soap. Patchouli or eucalyptus for deodorant, but I can basically only smell it when I apply it. It's still nice lol.
Anything aerosolized or carried in alcohols gives me migraines (and nausea). Even my spouse's beard products will make me feel sick so he's got to look at the ingredients before buying.
If I want to wear a scent at home to feel nice or whatever it will be something solid. I love jasmine and sandlewood. I have a few solid perfumes with the following profiles:
