I read the other day that our remaining stock of Patriots is so low that when US bases have missiles incoming, they essentially have to triage which ones they try to shoot down; if they don't think there are troops or personnel where the missile is going, they just let it hit.

Just to clarify: the issue doesn’t concern the delivery of Patriot missiles but rather a deal to license Ukrainian and European firms to manufacture the missile themselves.
During the ongoing war between the US and Iran, the US depleted its stockpiles of Patriot missiles to dangerous levels, forcing it to resupply the US military and leaving it unable to supply their European allies.
Realistically it might take up to two years to set up a manufacturing base in Ukraine, but now that Trump has once again backtracked on his earlier deal, Ukraine (as well as NATO and US allies in the Pacific) will be forced to seek alternatives.
