Obama and El-Sayed Discuss Unity After Ugly Michigan Primary

El-sayed keeps his religion out of his politics as every politician should.

I don't give two shits if he's Muslim. Tbh I think better of him because he's not another christiofascist. He wants us to have decent public services and decent lives; that's good enough for me.

I would give way less of a shit about people’s beliefs if more of them acted like El-sayed, as it stands with all other things being equal if I see two candidates and one of them professes to be a Christian and the other is anything else I’m gonna vote for the non-Christian every single time because they have been trying to shoehorn themselves into public policy my entire life. Even when I was a Christian I hated that’s shit, and in many ways that’s what led me to question and ultimately become antagonistic to that faith, but I digress.

I’ve never seen a group of Muslims trying to get the Pillars of Islam in every classroom. Or trying to ban alcohol sales on Saturdays. Christian’s do that shit all the time in the US.

I know all religions do shitty things, but in my life the most destructive by far has been Christianity because the loudest and influential ones take offense at the very idea that they might be wrong and the existence of anything that doesn’t reaffirm their beliefs must be destroyed.

Seems really insecure if you ask me.

Seems really insecure if you ask me.

They worship an ancient god of war who had to tell them to only worship him, and when they didn't he drown everyone but the family of a dude who slept with his daughters. And then there's the time he made them wander in a desert for 40 years.

Their god is a petulant, jealous child.

Crazy thing is, I remember studying the pillars of Islam in history class before 9/11. The new textbooks we got after 9/11 started with "since George Bush kept us safe since 9/11..." like it was right on the first page. That's when I knew we were headed full on fascism.

I've never once had anyone push their religious bullshit on me except Christians.

If he's honest (and that's a big if because he's an American politician gaining traction in a country where anyone too moral gets fucked), then his beliefs (which, ofc, include ethical standards based on the Qur'an and previous messages of the Divine/words of previous prophets) are 100% behind his nice sounding words and prosocial actions. And if he's not, then he's using it to gather support, and ofc he doesn't take God nor Islam seriously.

Christofascism is nothing but the logical conclusion of a "religion"/group of "religions" built on the image of a righteous, anti-imperialist man of the people who asked us to be loving and selfless to please God and avoid Hell, but based around the Paulian doctrines of "Jesus, the man, is God actually and if you believe this then your sins are forgiven automatically; oh, and faith/beliefs and acts are not connected". What do you think was the faith of those who went from Western Europe to West Asia to colonise during the Crusades? The faith behind the genocidal Anglo Saxon settlers that installed themselves in North America? The faith of those who engaged in transatlantic chattel slavery, in Leopold's Congo, in dropping nukes twice...? It's all as expected, and they use this faith as a shield too, somehow...

El-Sayed never campained on anything Islamic and never addressed his religon of Islam during his whole campain. He is pro-capitilism and he wants every $$ to be spent in his state services.

Obama fucked a lot of shit up...

But one thing he was willing to do, was tell Israel no.

It pissed Biden off so much, he publicly denounced Obama over it, because even till the day he left office from his first day as a Senator, Joe Biden always said: "The only way to negotiate with Israel, is give them everything they want"

That was his legitimate belief, so when Obama didn't say "yes", Biden shit talked him.

Even after he became president, Biden insisted you have to always say "yes" no matter what Israel asks:

Biden recounted in private that when he was vice president in 2014 and Israel mounted a military assault on Gaza, Obama and his staff rejected his belief, held for decades, that the best way to approach the Israelis is to hug them close but not criticize them, the people familiar with his comments said.

Instead, they said Biden has noted, Obama publicly admonished Israel’s actions and voiced concern for Palestinian civilian deaths early into the 2014 conflict. As a result, Biden has argued, Obama squandered any ability to influence the Israeli government as it invaded Gaza, said the people familiar with his comments.

The president’s private comparisons with his former boss subsided as outrage over rising civilian deaths in Gaza eclipsed the early praise for his approach, according to three of the people familiar with his comments. More than 14,000 Palestinians have been killed so far, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Department.

It's a very low bar, so while I am might have been the "best" in modern history, doesn't mean he was perfect or even better than El-Sayed or other new names.

I don't know what your point is.

But my take away is Stephen Semler doesn't know how to label an X axis clearly.

The obvious choice is every four years for presidential administrations, with a midpoint for Senate changes.

With labels not just for year, but presidents name and Congress majorities.

If people are going to use apss/sites to generate graphs at least put two fucking seconds of thought it

Like that Y axis?!

The only reason Im not positive Semler is a troll, is he didnt put a $, but the "B" alone is bad.

Maybe whoever made that app/site just didn't know what they were doing

He's been very open about it...

It's not that he considers himself a traitor or was even prioritizing countries despite being the president of one...

He's said that as a very young child (basically toddler) his father essentially told him that people were coming for the Jews, and if they ever succeeded then they're coming after the Catholics next.

https://en.wikipedia.org/...

And that was true at the time Biden was a toddler, that was just 80 fucking years ago.

Literally everything bad about right now is because Biden could not have cared less about it happening. Even moreso than the DNC at large, who also wanted Trump again. Merrick Garland was his pick, chosen with the express purpose of not prosecuting Trump.

His strengths were supposed to be foreign policy and the ability to negotiate legislation with Republicans, and those were two of the worst aspects of his presidency. The only thing that might eclipse that (depending on how much you think a good president could have stopped Israel) was appointing Merrick Garland as AG to do nothing about Trump's crimes.

Complete garbage. It's crazy how many liberals still praise him. I remember prior on Reddit calling him the "most effective president in history". Absolutely nuts. Those people are the blue magas.
