“You know they’re celebrating that he created 4,400 millionaires, but they don’t talk about the 4.5 million children around the world who he possibly sentenced to death by dismantling USAID,” Khanna said on the “I’ve Had It” podcast over the weekend.

The only questions journalists should ask billionaires are:

  1. How much is a human life worth to you?

  2. Then why do you have a billion dollars while so many preventable deaths happen?

Having a billion dollars isn't something anyone should strive for, and long before someone gets to that level, they need to be shamed out of it.

Anytime they complain, remind them all they need to do is let go of some of their hoarded wealth that they couldn't spend if they tried. Then remind them historically the rest of society eventually stops asking and starts seizing.

In case anyone didn't know who was on that list first:

First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_They_Came

The first two have been used as insults by Republicans for decades now...

Edit:

Technically this is the original translation, written by a Christian Pastor:

When the Nazis came for the communists, I kept quiet; I wasn't a communist.

When they came for the trade unionists, I kept quiet; I wasn't a trade unionist.

When they locked up the social democrats, I kept quiet; I wasn't a social democrat.

When they locked up the Jews, I kept quiet; I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me, there was no one left to protest.

Looks like OP is banned by .ml

Which isn't uncommon and says nothing about OP.

.ml just bans people for stupid shit, you likely can't see any of their posts, or a lot of other people's.

The only solution is not having an account over there.

The person who made this post is from .ml and made it on .world....

So no, it's a pretty safe bet they haven't defederated.

But .ml banned the person who's post this OP can't see, that's the reason why they can't see that one specific post. It's any post by an account banned by .ml.

Anywhere on the fediverse, that's why .ml bans so many people that never comment on .ml

They don't want their users exposed to certain things. And this is a way for them to control what a .ml user sees even on other instances.

Buddy...

You want to host an anti-Iranian regime website, from inside Iran?

Like, do you honestly not understand how easy it would be to trace back to you?

Do you realize in any country hosting an instance makes you responsible for what's posted?

That's not even getting into how you couldn't post outside links if there's a filter, or how if when the regime IDs you and arrests you, they have all the DMs and IMs of everyone who signed up for it

You want a secure messaging service, what you're talking about is an insanely uninformed and dangerous plan.

Do not do what you're talking about doing.

That (if it happens) is trillions of years in the future

I think the big problem with that is our universe is like that apple Newton saw falling.

With the apple, Newton saw it hit the ground and stop. Because of vastly different timespans, we'll never see the apple hit the ground. From our perspective it's either accelerating to terminal velocity (and we'd think it would always accelerate) or it's reached terminal velocity (and we'd think the speed is constant).

If we could see the even larger picture past that, we'd see that we're not the only apple falling, and there's more both on the ground and in the tree. Also that there's a shit ton of other apple trees.

Our universe isn't special, even if it's unique.

Leading theory is when two planes collide, it creates a universe with random physics, that exists for a while, and then is essentially gone.

There's a bunch of those "planes" (2d, not airplanes) out there in the nothingness. As far as any of us can tell, they don't have a shelf life and will keep on creating universes.

Our universe dying doesn't mean the end of everything. Just one of many fireworks fading away in what looks like an empty sky.

"Trillions of years" is a blink of an eye on some timescales.

Why are people always so shocked at honesty on the internet?

That person doesn't know us and shouldn't care what we think. So they can be honest they almost did something stupid.

Asking if they really admitted to almost doing something stupid is a million times dumber. Did you really need to ask to be sure, or did you just get giddy because you felt smarter?

You're likely not smarter, just too stubborn to admit under any conditions you almost made a poor choice so now you want to pile on the person who admitted it...

Which is why I'm bothering to make this comment:

You're perpetuating a giant social issue. Owning up to real or even almost poor decisions is something that everyone should feel comfortable admitting. There is nothing wrong with that and sharing it allows the group to learn from the experience.

And if society at large is "the group" we sure as shit need to start trying something besides blond confidence and a refusal to admit we're not perfect.

If any politician is "pro ai" it means one of two things:

  1. They're too stupid to be in charge of anyone

  2. They're corrupt and doing what the money says

It's an incredibly easy litmus test in primaries.

Kratom is one of those things that shouldn't be legal

Take a tiny bit and it's a cup coffee, take a lot and it's like an opioid.

With a fast accumulating tolerance, people eventually reach the point where they get that surprise opioid like dose when they're expecting a cup of coffee.

And even if they don't like it, tough shit. They're already addicted by that point, they can't just stop taking it.

Add on how it's completely unregulated and who knows how much of anything is in any pill, and it's an epidemic waiting to happen.

The people that don't understand consciousness (pretty much everyone) and don't understand AI either, so they lump them together.

If anyone knows anything about either, they know AI isn't conscious

Oh wow, CEOs and employees rich in stock options say it's conscious...

Subway says it's sandwiches are healthy too bub

What about a virus?

I say a virus is conscious...

Most people say virus are conscious if they're familiar with consciousness.

A virus being conscious does not mean computer code can be conscious. The only people who think the two are equatable, don't know anything about either. It's predicted on a flawed definition of life, virus meet the definition of life, AI running on a computer does not. It will never be capable of it, unless someone builds a lot more very complicated shit, to get essentially nothing productive as a return.

I have no idea how you think any of that is relevant, because you're just quoting random parts of your article like it would be surprising new information and not something I literally just read.

Literally starting a land invasion after the war and trying to play the victim...

Hezbollah said its fighters launched attacks on Israeli forces attempting to advance into Lebanese territory.

The group said an Israeli military unit was lured into a "kill zone", where three Merkava tanks were destroyed near the Ali al-Tahir area south of the country.

A second Israeli unit attempting to retrieve the first group was then targeted with a rocket barrage and mortar shells.

In a statement posted on social media on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to make Hezbollah pay a “heavy price” for its attacks.

“Israel will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon for as long as necessary for the protection of the communities of the north,” he said.

Hezbollah was founded in 1982 by Lebanese clerics in response to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hezbollah

Considering they're literally still defending against Israeli invaders...

It's hard to call them terrorists and not "freedom fighters" reminiscent of any populace that takes it upon themselves to fend off an invasion.

Like bro, what else are the people supposed to do?

Just let Israel take their land?

That was tried 70 years ago, they just keep taking more.

And that's not even getting into how one wing does have substantial power in Levanon's government...

Someone is 100% going to try and use videogames to train AI to fight in real life.

There's now way they won't.

We'll know it's really here when a new game advertises that it's bots use "intelligent movement and reactions" instead of copying scripted movement like a player's button presses.

They'll stress the realism that the bots even use cover and aim weapons realistically.

Because they won't be running the same thing as players. The bots will be some matrix type inputs like QWOP so it can learn to control a real life bot body with the same inputs as the game.

That's 100% some shit microslop will put in COD

It's No Child Left Behind from Lil Bush...

They just stopped teaching critical thinking and empathy decades ago. People in their 30s and under were never taught critical thinking.

Even with video games, they grew up where a 5 second pause meant googling a walkthrough video. The Water Temple would have broken them.
