This is something you can only experience in Japan when it rains.

Their animals are more civilized than our people

Not really. They shit everywhere and will headbutt you if they think you're hiding food from them. Still cool, but there are some issues. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nara_Park#Deer

I've heard that deer do that too sometimes.

The people here would be fighting each other while blaring music on portable speakers. Oddly, that doesn't make animals feel comfortable hanging out in a place.

Which city hurt you?

Edit: I wasn’t the person who downvoted you, was attempting lightheartedness. I hope you have someone to talk to about these things. If not, it can be me.

Well, there's the one a grew up in where I saw middle school looking kids on bikes shooting at each other once, the park on the corner near my house was renamed after the kid that had been shot in the head there, and bullets came through my fence and the side of my house several times.

Or Fargo, which seemed more peaceful other than most of the locals always seeming to be staring at me and trying to remember if they still had that rope in the truck.

Then there was Denver where I'd find at least a dozen used syringes on a light day and had to call and say I wasn't going to be able to make it to an event because there is a stretcher with a dead guy who had overdosed in the bathroom on the other side of my office door blocking me in, and the paramedics seemed to have paused to eat lunch.

I’m sorry. That sounds awful. Violence, poverty, and the exploitation which precedes it, are terrible things that we still inflict upon each other. I do hope you’ve found a safer place to live, somewhere you can just be, among people who care for and look out for each other. Or if you haven’t yet that you will soon. In the meantime, my DMs are open.

Nah. One of those spoilt brats bit my shirt when I stopped feeding it treats.

They literally have a sheltered upbringing.

This looks like outside the 7-Eleven HQ in Nara

I'm assuming that is probably in Nara, the most popular city to go for seeing those deer.

Those deer are very comfortable around humans. Maybe being in a pack lets them be that way?

More likely being fed by tourists constantly has domesticated them.

I don't think they're technically domesticated, but it has made them passive to us (unless they want something).

I just biked past a herd of deer along a wooded trail in the middle of a city yesterday and they didn't flinch. They just grew up in the city.

I thought this was the deer town? The deer are tame and will eat from your hands at the park.
