Kindergarten Vaccine Exemptions Hit Record High as US Suffers Worst Measles Outbreak in Decades

And medical research. There are no new drugs or treatments coming in a few years.
I still vividly remember a conversation between my grandmother (retired nurse) and mother (then an administrator in nursing), when my mother first came across some anti-vaxxers who were younger nurses.
My grandmother thought it was about the stupidest thing she ever heard when it came to health care. She rarely swore, but she had some choice words....
Vaccination down in the face of an epidemic, and new parents are refusing vitamin K shots in babies so brain bleeding and permanent brain damage.
USA is fucked. You spend so much time and effort making abortion illegal but then you kill the kids later, either by disease or gunshot.
Don't forget car accidents, and overdosing.
It's MAGA trying to undo everything that ties a society togther.
Yes, they’re dupes being steered by hostile foreign adversaries using pedophile kompromat.
Exactly.
Russia and China is getting just about every item on their wishlists.
Thanks to conservative dumbasses.
I hate the idea of dead kids, dying from preventable diseases that their parents elected not to prevent.
I hate those parents more. May their children dead from preventable diseases inflict the worst kind of mental torment imaginable for them.
These people can rationalize anything, including the death of their own children. That's how they got to this point in the first place.
Amish parents just say it's was God's will. Cults always have the easy answers.
Nah, I'm not even willing to say "I hope you suffer from the inability to treat your dead kid like trash".
I just don't care about them at all. If they drown in their sorrow and off themselves that's just the way it is.
My ability to care is pretty much all used up on people who didn't do it to themselves at the moment.
May their lineage end with them.
Those parents that lost a child said they had no regrets.
I mean, what the actual fuck.
Darwin awards are for people that remove themselves from the gene pool before they procreate. The parents already reproduced and the kids that die have no control over the matter so Darwin awards don't apply in either case.
I mean, technically the parents are removing themselves from the gene pool. I haven't heard the stipulation that it's "before procreating". I think getting your kids killed by an easily preventable disease is macabre, but technically counts.
Seems pretty self inflicted, no?
Right. Man, this thread just reminded me of the old days (for me) hanging around on the Darwin Awards forums when they first opened up a decade or two back.
There have been endless arguments about what should qualify or exclude someone from consideration for an award. The existence of existing children doesn't exclude one from getting an award because death by stupidity still prevents you from having any more children. But getting your own kids killed due to your own stupidity does though. The children didn't cause their own deaths (or sterilization), and that is one major key to winning an award, self selection.
If anyone cares, there are actual rules at the forum that have been getting hashed out since this all started in usenet groups in the mid eighties.
Also the poor kids that are medically unable to receive certain vaccines, and depend on herd immunity. 😞
Silver lining: the US is running a natural experiment to disprove once and for all the theory that there is a link between autism and vaccination.
I love the implication that it is better to die than to be autistic in any way.
From that article on the granola being tainted:
Are the “Make America Healthy Again” folks still happy with their choices?
They might be just a bit happier now that they've put people at risk. Thanks assholes!
Sounds like a coincidence.

An odd hill to choose to literally die on, the problem is they are forcing their conspiracy fantasies on innocent kids.
The way covid was dealt with created a mistrust in the institutions we will pay for a while
The only bad covid advice was coming from Trump.
I've followed the debates in US less, but in France both "side" had thier nonsense moments.
It turned into a political thing when it shouldn't have.

The people of the United States can choose to refresh their memory of the scourges eliminated by vaccination through education and healthcare, or through the death and suffering of those that they love.
Eventually, the choice will be made for them.
