Anyone using Chrome is an idiot.

OK, arguably. But I would not suggest to approach your friends like that, to get them off it!

If our goal is to move people off privacy invading tech, we can get more flies with honey than vinegar. If we approach ppl like, you're an idiot! Well it's just human psychology. Ppl entrench against you. They are much less likely to listen.

We can get better results to come at them in a positive way. Be patient, explain the probs. Explain the future risks of big G controlling all browsers, and by extension, de-facto web standards. Give ppl alternatives. Point them to good online explanations of why not to use Chrome.

We're in an info overload world. Most ppl don't have any idea about any of this stuff.

OMG, yeah! When I see my friends screens who don't use sth like UBO, I'm like... how can you stand it?

IMO showing them "premium internet" makes for a good chance to talk about why G having the market power to make manifest V3 a standard, is so important. And why we should all fight back against it.

So 95% of people, that checks out actually.

Too bad its the browser used by 98% of people, and many webapps will only run in chrome alone so those of us with any brain not using chrome are forced to use it for work.

Which web apps only run in Chrome but not in other Chromium-based browsers?

Quite a few. Autodesk is a big one. A lot of custom apps made for companies only do chrome.

Seems like AI slop article.

I can say with somewhat high confidence that the website (design) is vibe coded, or at the very least AI assisted. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same goes for the article.

Look at the footer; I made the website with Hugo and used a theme called 'mana' from their theme store. It's possible the theme is vibe-coded.

Then my advice would be to use a different theme if it isn’t too much work. Something that doesn’t look vibe coded so people don’t get the wrong impression.

Selecting a theme from Hugo is really stressful and time-consuming because many themes are out of date. These themes show errors because Hugo alters its requirements so fast.

There is only a minimal number of up to date working themes. Some them are too much bloated and heavy for my purpose.

It's much appreciated that anyone who used Hugo before has any suggested themes for a minimal blog site.

Is any of these themes looks fine?
