No One Knows If Trump and Iran Are Negotiating Right Now

This contradictory claim comes right after "informal advisor" Jared Kushner told Fox News yesterday the U.S. and Iran continue to talk. He said Trump was waiting to "make the right deal when the right deal is ready, but we are having very positive and active conversations" with Iran.
But also, who the fuck is "we"!? Did I miss him being senate-confirmed? No...? Then he's not a member of the government, has no security clearance, and can either say what he wants as a private citizen, or STFU. Don't pretend you're compelled to keep details (that you're not supposed to be privy to) secret. I know we're all overwhelmed and exhausted by it, but the chaos and corruption in this administration is ridiculous...
who the fuck is “we”!?
If it's Kushner talking, "we" is Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Even Trump doesn't know.
I think that's his whole platform.
I’m pretty sure Iran said it wouldn’t bc it can’t trust this administration.
You can tell he's actively shitting his pants in the thumbnail
The only eventual outcome is declaring victory and leaving. US is incapable of a genuine respectful peace deal with Iran. Leaving lets them ruminate about how they need to return. Republicans can say that anyone who doesn't support the victory declaration is a traitor who wants higher oil prices.
The only puzzle is why not sooner than later? The only answer is US oligarchy preferring to use higher oil prices to fund Republicans in election, and Israel firsters who consider any damage to Iran worth unlimited cost to US/Americans.
The reason he can't do that, as much as he would love to, is that Iran is under no obligation to back down just because the US does. They can, and will, continue to hold the strait hostage until the US comes to the table with a deal they like.
If TACO was an option, Trump would have done it months ago. It's not, and that's exactly why his reaction to this situation has been so wildly erratic. He has no idea how to deal with a situation where "just bail" isn't an option.
They can, and will, continue to hold the strait hostage until the US comes to the table with a deal they like.
I disagree. GCC would just make peace with Iran. Do that $300B investment deal they committed to under MoU, in exchange for no tolls? China will come and help cover everyone's rebuilding. The toll requests were always fairly minimal compared to not selling any oil at higher prices. Trump/Republicans can frame is as though China is being forced to pay for Gulf security, ignoring any favours they get in return.
The problem is there's nobody in Iran in control of the country to enforce any agreement.
Sitting here in Canada, watching Trump randomly threaten tariffs every other day whenever it strikes his fancy to demand some new concession from us despite decades of free trade agreements and frameworks in place to supposedly prevent this, thinking this isn't actually an Iran problem.
