But after having sent the letter to Kidsgrove Town Council, rather than Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, she changed her mind about quitting.
Electoral Commission rules stated a councillor cannot withdraw their resignation once it has been received by the authority.
“In this instance, a letter was hand-delivered to an incorrect address at Kidsgrove Town Council.
We live in the information age, receiving a constant bombardment of information. Consequently we all miss details here and there, there's just so much to take in and process all day every day, so there's no need to feel shame. That's why we're on a social site discussing the information, so that collectively we can get more from these articles than we would do in isolated reading.
