TI feels so fast for me. The final game is coming too fast

I miss the old days of 7 days of main event and 16 teams getting to play in front of the crowd. 4 days isn't enough I agree, but I think Esports tournaments struggle to make a profit and PGL want to cut corners. Arena rent and staffing costs etc add up.

I wanted Vision to win, so sad for Noone.

That Bane save on LS was clutch, but there's one point I have not seen mentioned. In that very last fight, Juggernaut got hit by an arrow that wasn't even aimed at him, under full vision and from across the map, which ultimately ended up in Jugg's and Axe's (who was trying to save him) dieback; perhaps they could have defended a bit longer if not for that. I think Satanic was not there mentally, and we saw that in the player's camera, with Satanic having a mini-mental breakdown, while Yatoro was simply laughing and enjoying the game.

Yeah, it's heartbreaking but the better team did win. I really think they should have drafted differently, but even in this game they had chances. So many small moments - that time Omnislash went into the illusion instead could have kept momentum for Vision instead of shifting it towards Spirit. Also I think Satanic should have itemized differently, he needed Abyssal and Skadi I think, building for an ult that just got Aeon Disked or Ghost Sceptered etc was just bait.

As the casters were saying, Juggernaut basically needed 3 more item slots to feel like a good carry that game. He's just not a viable hero with her ultimate being what it is. Halfway through the match, I found myself thinking that they should make omnislash a regular ability and make blade fury his ultimate or something like that.

The hero needs something, you can't have as much of his power budget as this invested into an ultimate that is as easily and cheaply counterable as Omnislash.

Would an Ahgs that gives Omnislash built-in Nullifier be too broken?

Maybe. The thing about nullifier is that any of the other 4 heroes on your team can build it too. And even if you fix that issue, there's still the fact that there's still too much of a change that you jump away to different targets.

The problem with omnislash is that it's just too RNG to be useful in pro matches. You don't know who you're going to hit, and you don't know where you're going to be when it's over. That's fine for pubs, but can't work in pro matches. And then there's the balance issue - buff it too much and Jugg becomes a smurf hero, or first phase ban in pro matches. Bounty hunter is another great example of this - it's either in the dumpster or first phase-banned.

It's hard to make a hero that works both at 1k MMR and in the pro scene, and at all MMR levels in between too. So we end up seeing a lot of bland heroes in tournaments because it's really easy to balance the game around all the heroes' HP pools. The tanky strength core meta (like carry DK that felt like it was meta for 3 years) was really what killed my interest in watching the pro scene.

Well, that was a bit rambly, but with all of that said, this year was a lot better I have to say - really refreshing to see all the magic-based linueups. Seeing teams trying to burst through heroes with just enough mana/abilities/damage amp was really what made all the fights fun to watch.

I 🤔 Spirit figured out game 5 late-game. "The attacker team wins." Jug and Lifestealer were more vulnerable if caught by surprise and the ally heroes were in a bad formation. Spirit wanted to be the attacker team so they could slay Vision.

Heartbroken but it was a beautiful final and Spirit deserve to win. Insane gameplay, but I don't understand that final draft. What the fuck is the obsession with picking Juggernaut when everything is on the line in a TI final? It's such a sad hero in a game that has Aeon Disks. And why ban Puck, which Miposhka himself said just isn't a hero? Just ban Dark Seer in the third phase and you have a free game on a illusion hero carry, they can't ban them all. I don't get it.

Still, amazing entertainment and I guess Puppey is destined to be always the bridesmaid, never the bride. As a fan of his, it hurts to see him lose his what... third final? Fourth?

That Bane sleep at the end, man...

That was such a beautiful game 4. The last pick SK was perfect and 9class's itemization was also incredible. The doom on Collapse during the last fight in front of the radiant base was also genius. Such a high-level game. I'm probably cursing Team Vision by praising them so much but that was an immaculate performance.

It's been an incredible final, probably the best I've ever watched in terms of both back-and-forth and the overall quality of play from both teams.

Puppey starting off the grand final by overthinking the draft and painting himself into a corner, not unexpected but not what I wanted to see. Please don't do something stupid like first picking Ember and putting him safe lane next time, please...

I viewed the 3 Spirit wins in the finals – games 1, 3 and 5.

Yatoro! Collapse! 3 The international wins!

I haven't been a great analyst so this has been my amateur observation –

This patch may be position-1-heavy. The position 1 should pick a high-damage-rate (could deal high damage in a short amount of 🕑) hero. Better if there was much burst. 2 of the aims were to get the position 1 to have so much net worth he'd be so hard to slay, and have a wide gap between the position-1 and position-2 net worths.

But I may be wrong.

Miposhka was a great coach. Great drafts.

Vision should've picked a higher-damage-rate hero in game 1, not Ember.

Satanic's face at 1 point in game 5 was like "Jug is 💩." :p

Hope No[o]ne- will continue despite the pain of the loss.
