[feature request] quick way to block communities when browsing the All feed

a month ago by gandalf_der_13te to c/lemmy

i regularly browse the all feed to find new interesting content. however there's a whole lot of small communities being advertised that are just not applicable to me. could there be a quick way to block those? i.e. without having to open the community -> "block community", since opening the community in the first place takes maybe 5 seconds depending on how fast the network is.

ideally i'd like a quick block button next to the three-dots-menu. (maybe this button is only visible when browsing the all feed? but not when browsing the subscribed feed.) something like this:

when pressing it, it asks you something like this:

and just pressing Enter key confirms it.

Just subscribe to communities. I never understand why people go through this hassle of trying to block out everything they don't like instead of just opting into things they do.

I've found some communities through cross-posts, or when you like a post you could check out the other communities they're active in

As little as possible. For me, less content to scroll through is a feature, not a bug.

Like others say, and then all is always still there. I just switch to it once in a while, like if I burned through my whole feed. Usually a couple new communities to sub to, then switch back.
