gut das ist eine kleine stichprobe. gegenargument: die AfD und die BSW stellen sich beide auf die seite russlands und werden gewählt. also es ist nicht so als ob "stellen uns gegen russland -> werden gewählt" tatsächlich so immer in der praxis stimmt.

so wie es z. B. illegal ist, großflächig urheberrechtlich geschützte Daten zu stehlen und kommerziell zugänglich zu machen, außer du bist eine KI-Firma.

naja, ganz so ist es auch wieder nicht. bloßes zitieren anderer leute im großen stil ohne eigene meinung dazu abzugeben ist illegal, aber wenn du z.b. aus einem buch zitierst um zu kritisieren dann ist es legal weil du ja deine eigene meinung dazu abgibst und somit konstruktiv etwas beiträgst.[1] auch ist z.b. das verwenden von dritten inhalten erlaubt, wenn du diese hinreichend veränderst. also derivat-produkte herstellst. und das ist genau das, was KI im großen stil tut. damit ist das legal. so zumindest die fair-use bestimmungen die auch in unserem land gelten.

[1]: hier ist es übrigens ausschlaggebend, wie groß der beitrag ist den du leistest, im verhältnis zu dem was du zitierst. also wenn du z.b. 2 zeilen zitierst und dann 15 seiten drüber schreibst, ist ok. wenn du aber 15 seiten zitierst und dann kommentierst "gefällt mir gut 👍️", dann wird das nicht erlaubt sein, weil zu wenig eigener beitrag.

How many of the posts that you see in your feed come from mastodon? For me it's probably less than 5%. Well guess what, mastodon users are about 90% of all fediverse users. stats (active mastodon users: 1.5M, active lemmy users: 36k)

Why don't we see the large amount of already-existing content from mastodon?

(If you want to make as much content for lemmy, as is already existing for mastodon, we'd need about 1.5M new users. instead one technological change could get us there too.)
