The announcement page on Konami's site has more information, including the fact that there are now over 3,800 cards instead of the 3,501 in the original games according to Yugipedia. So they've added about 300 cards

I'm mixed on the game, I think. I've always wanted a Tag Force game - I never got to play these back then -, but I'd prefer a new one.
300 new cards is nice and all, but with no mechanics beyond fusion it's bound to feel pretty basic. I'll probably still give it a shot.
The actual dream would be a modern Tag Force game with all cards and Genesys format. The format also just fits a Sacred Cards like leveling system perfectly - just increase the deck point limit with each level.
