Do updates count? Because I can’t download it more than I already have.

Edit: Eureka!, I found I could delete the web download version and reinstall via homebrew!

You know what, I'm going to uninstall so I can download even harder!

Servers hate this one weird trick.

You can install it from your distro's repos, snap, appimage, and flatpak.

It turns out that homebrew was the way to go!

He’s already downloaded! He can’t download any farther!

I can’t download it more than I already have.

Not with that attitude!

But I say there's nothing stopping you from going to their website and downloading the installer repeatedly.

Yet, somehow can't stop putting annoying banners across the top every time I open it .....

But seriously, haven't used anything else for 20 years. Thanks!

Damn the people that have been stuck with ms365/office were right all these years...

No One is using LibreOffice

I'm confused. Is there another release that does have AI?

Jankatarch 15 points a month ago

No. They just essentially listed "we will never have AI, I guarantee it" as a feature and it was awesome.

Yeah, a third grade AI shop from Redmond sells it

How much is that compared to normal releases. Looks more like a continuation of the normal upward trendline.

This is what happens when the US forces Google drive and Microsoft to delete ICC judges' accounts, making them loose all their cloud docs.

Europeans wisely choose data sovereignty

This is fantastic news, I'll go search it up. Hopefully it's available on my distro without any fandangling.

Edit: It's just the most recent update to the main branch.

You'd be hard pressed to find any distro that doesn't have LibreOffice in its repos, as easy to install as any other software in the distro. Hell, most of the distros I work with have it installed by default when you first install the distro.

Does the UX still look like it was designed in 1998?

Yes, thankfully. Function over form 🙏

it has a few toolbar looks for you to choose from, including a ribbon-like one if that's your preference.

It does not look like 1998 software.

It does if you configure it to use an icon pack from 1998 though!

Have there been any significant advances in word processor UX since then? No, these days the computer industry is more interested in ripping people off than making useful software.
