If so, why? I'm genuinely curious. I have never encountered anyone who runs it.

How's the package availability? Does it ship everything you would need?
Why solus and not anything else
I wanted to. Seemed like my ideal Gnome distro since I have a lot of annoyances with Fedora bugs.
However it was even worse
I use a Bluetooth mouse and doing any kind of installs through Gnome software would completely freeze up my mouse and cause lag with it.
Unfortunate, because I'd like to use it but its too janky for my mouse I guess
I did at one point, its pretty much like a novel flavor of Linux distro with a very fast package manager. The repos were decent, but, not bountiful with software...So I eventually went with Garuda Linux.
Solus, in my experience was a good daily driver, never had any meaningful issues running it. Fairly solid Linux distribution. The rolling updates didn't ever break anything serious for me, but, I did have to do one or two manual interventions on my configs.
Have it on a touchscreen Thinkpad and it works well enough. It loses the cursor when using the touchscreen is my only minor gripe. I use the trackpad anyways. Other than that, it seems good. Computery.
I did for awhile on PC, but more recently I couldnโt get it to run happily on an ARM macOS VM. I try off and on but it never works right, so I have boring old Debian when I need Linux (usually to disk repair for disks actually used by Linux machines).
Yes, I do. Also installed it on my parents computer, not much complain there. I think most people use it because it offers (mostly) newest software without the worry of it changing their system so much it became unusable. Most of them stay because of the small tight-knit community it has. I know I do.
The again I am biased ๐.
well, i just fired-up the last of the solus test systems i had here. this one a basic budgie. hadn't been booted since march. it took all the updates (and there was a lot) just fine. i'm gonna drop another 8gb into it (so it's 16gb, but it will still have hdd) and use it on my work table as a second (or 'third') pc.
