Trump/maga can fuck off

also, this shows exactly that what Australia is doing will have a positive effect for Australia, it will stop exploitation, abuse by these big companies.

So lets just keep doing this harder

Interesting take, the government isn't doing anything that benefits the people.

Destroying trust in government is the first thing Trump and Reagan did .

It's the exact opposite of what the US is saying. It will make Facebook deliver exactly what's asked of it.

Oh shit. For a second, I forgot this was Australia and not the US.

Sounds like Dump and his cronies can go eat a bag of shit.

would infringe Americans’ free speech

Don't pretend like you care, Donald

that free speech saying is pure New Speak , it's the opposite of reality

also, in America you can pretty much dress up anything as acceptable when you call it freedom

for example regarding child labour laws, republicans will say, "the children deserve the freedom to work in the coal mines"

and the democrats will say 'the republicans did it'

Nothing is going to get better as long as people continue to treat duopoly parties like sporting teams.

If you're doing a thing and it upsets the worst people keep doing it.

And the people of the Fediverse are saying it’s the way to stay relatively sane. If Demented Don is for algorithms then opting out is the right thing to do.

We don’t have a bill of rights in Australia so while we do have some free speech protections, it isn’t codified in the Constitution.

However we are still a sovereign country and we can still tell Droneald’s “political donors” to pull their fucking head in. I am sick of having garbage fed to me on the commercial social networks I am forced to use.

This is the opposite of censorship. Letting people select their own feeds is free speech.

Ok so I'm following along I think. I write a book and put it on sale to Australians. Now, everyone has to buy it and read it. If for some reason you didn't read it (of course you would!), you'll be imposing censorship on me.
