Kurt Russell was the ultimate action hero because he's really just some guy. Love all his movies.

he was on Walt Disney's mind when he died.

I still remember those made-for-TV movies he did for Disney early in his career. He typically played some mischievous college student who accidentally invents an invisibility serum or something and chaos ensues.

I just started watching escape from NY last night for the first time in decades. It's kind of insane how far fetched everything seemed when I watched it in the 90s. When I watch it now, it looks like something the dipshit rape ape would absolutely do

I really like both Escapes, and objectively NY is probably the better movie, but, unpopular opinion, I actually prefer LA. It's so outrageously off the wall bonkers, yeah, zero fucks and glorious with it. Welcome to the human race.

NY is the real movie. LA is Carpenter doing 25th hour 5 minutes of hate bit with fuck this and fuck that at movie length. it is majestic at that. too bad we never got mad max snake escape from earth after that glorious finale

Still want Escape From Earth, might even be better with an aged Kurt Russell.

The scene with the cross court shots is impressive because Kurt insisted he actually make them instead of them just editing quick cuts.

Not a patch on the original, but as time goes on we can appreciate that at least we got some more Snake Plissken while that was still possible.

i don't think NY and LA can even be compared as they're not really doing things in the same field. LA is basically all metanarrative movie dressed into EFNY framework
