Club rule [CW: mentions of chasers]

Not saying I'd do this, but...I'm kinda easy :P

TotallynotJessica 108 points 14 days ago

He was into her before he knew, so it's probably fine

Isn't the only question if he would introduce her to his family since she is already easily passing?

Chasing wise it's "okay", still straight up SA tho

Eh, I feel like this probably occurred in the sort of place where you implicitly consent to touching subject to body language. The initial grinding would be considered an "unless told not to" type of thing, and then when OOP "went with it" that was consent for a little more and so on. Verbal consent is the gold standard, sure, but some people like to read and be read between the lines. After all, OP and OOP both seem fine with the situation.

Even assuming sarcasm, I struggle with this comment.

I don't understand why you're confused. The guy OOP was with was into her before he knew she was trans, meaning he doesn't exclusively go for trans gals, meaning he probably sees her as a person more than a minority group he thinks is hot which is the definition of a chaser

There is always the non-zero probability of TIRM, though.

That happened to me, ended differently.

And no I didn't consent to be touched, fuck them and people harassing. Probably will not go clubbing again unless I'm in a safe group.

Fuck...I'm so sorry to hear that 🫂
That's neither funny nor okay to do, to anyone for any reason. Fuck those people
I hope you're doing better...🩵

And that's why I do t go to clubs.

I'm horrible at reading body language directed at me, so I either end up doing something inappropriate because I misread the situation, or, the much more likely scenario is, I end up doing nothing when I was given the (not so) clear signal...

I wonder why the fuck we cannot just talk, we ain't birds who have to make signals

Most of the clubs I've been to I can't even hear myself think, let alone have a conversation.

Because people aren't comfortable talking. And it does make it awkward when e.g. you're dancing with someone. "hey can I touch your waist" etc.

In the story, the guy isn't looking for an "experience with a trans", but accepts that a trans woman is a woman. He doesn't reject her after his physical satisfaction. And him and the narator seem to agree on the start of the relationship... Why would it be wrong?

I’m confused, this doesn’t seem like chaser behavior at all

How solid of a BJ was that, where you get so tired you fall asleep immediately after?

Punnily, it must have been pretty hard.

Must have been pretty enthusiastic. Sometimes you're doing your best and you just forget to breathe 😆
I think I could see that happening...

Firstly, everything else aside, OOP's guy sucks purely on the basis of him putting his hands on someone unbidden. That aside...

OOP seems to peg the guy as a chaser on the basis that he got more into it after learning she was trans, though maybe there's more to it based on something that wasn't mentioned. The prospect of a date doesn't rule that out, because the prototypical chaser behaviour is a man who'll string a trans woman along with a "relationship" that he never lets anyone else find out about.

I think you definitely shouldn't let anyone "use" you in that way (not specific to chasers), but at the same time, if all you want is sex and all they want is sex and everyone is clear about that, then why not?

People who fetishize a minority group to the extent that they don't care about the person as much as they care that the person belongs to the minority group.

Blahaj almost has its own language if, like me, you just visit here. The locals always know what each other mean though.

Well, I do disproportionately approach trans women. That IRL girl I told you about found it weird until I explained my motives. Yes, it takes meeting a mahō shōjo for me to overcome my shyness but I don't go further than normal men meeting cis women and I'm clear about consent, so I think it's not creepy. This does mean I'm putting (some) women on a pedestal but that can be deat with as I try to unlearn patriarchy...

Maybe I should get something that looks like a tactical vest that says "𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘" instead of "𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬". You've been transforming and I'm helping you come to terms with your newfound and growing seductress powers. You must not use them for evil, like offering your body to bigots (they would hurt you and become more likely to attack other magical girls). I can't cast protective spells but I'm big and heavy enough to make most singular men reconsider any physical attacks. I can also use a sign or something to look for opportunities in your quest. I wish I could give you fashion advice too, better find a girl guide for that. And yes, I will leave you alone or alone with someone if you decide :)

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
