How do you know what gigs are available? The whole thing with gigs is that you can make quick money, have a flexible schedule, and you don't have to wait long periods of time just to get hired, despite not making much money.

By going out and asking around. The more informal looking a place looks like, the more likely they are to do informal hiring for a quick buck for a single day. Chances of not finding any work are significant, tho

All of those apps will require playstore and no FOSS-only alternative will be popular enough to make you any money. You'll either need to use a dedicated phone for those apps or you'll want to start a lawn/snow shoveling service.

Do these sites not have regular web based interfaces that work for the gig worker? I know as a customer for many of these, I use the web on my desktop rather than my phone. It’s easier to read and navigate.
