OK, so I get that this is a shitpost and not serious but thus falls under my special interest exemption so buckle up.

First option, producing sterile males is a wonderful solution. You breed a large population of male mosquitoes which are sterile and then you release them in bulk into the wild. They will take up the time of the females with fruitless mating and in doing so make the next generation smaller. Do this a few times and the population crashes, leading to local near extinction. This works well and has basically no ecological consequences but you have to keep doing it.

Second option, use natural environmental factors. Some plants are repellant to mosquitoes so you could plant a bunch of those and make the area hostile. Also setting up dragonfly ponds would allow an explosion in the number of dragonflies and therefore a crash in the number of mosquitoes.

Third option, you could consider a gene drive. This is the least researched option simply because the technology is new. You make a gene which includes the tools to copy itself from one chromosome to its matching pair. When the animal has a child it will get at least one copy of the gene and which will copy itself to the second chromosome, making them have a double copy of it. This makes the gene super heritable and allows it to pass down to all children and all of their children indefinitely. Now you could include with this gene a sterility factor for males, weakness to a pesticide, some sort of deficiency which is only survivable with supplementation, or any number of other things. Because it is super heritable it will pass through the population quickly and in just a few generations it will squeeze out the wild type, so if you have male sterility there will be no fertile males left and the population will wink out.
