So you think you can do what I do? Yeah well you probably can. It's not that hard.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to say goodbye to my little girl (cat)... she has liquid in her chest, compressing her lungs and heart. She won't eat or drink, especially after giving her medications.

I'm so wrecked right nkw...

Being there at the end is the most important and hardest part of what we do for them.

Something that really annoys me is when people are super rigid with language. I'm not talking about when people are intentionally precise and check in to make sure they are understood (u r angels, honestly 🙏) but when people have no understanding about how culture impacts communication.

The internet is giant. English is spoken in so many different ways all over the world. I wonder if I'm more sympathetic to this because of the autism and knowing how easy it is to be misunderstood, or if it's living in a place with a lot of immigration so that I can get to know how english is spoken in different english speaking regions as well as how people who learned english later in life communicate.

An IRL example that always comes to mind is when I was a child and visiting family in the southern US. Someone asked me what I thought of something and I said, "It's nice!" enthusiastically. Well, apparently that's the wrong thing to say and a great insult because "nice" is a code word for "I don't like it, I'm not going to pretend I do, but I don't want to stray too far from social norms and say it clearly". Where I am from it is a genuine positive assessment (unless it's said sarcastically, which isn't what I did). It didn't matter when I told them I didn't mean any offense and that the word has different connotations where I'm from. I should have spoken english the right way. Their way.

I got a new phone. I think I could just transfer the sim chip over and the new one will be on the old plan? But in the past we have had to go to the store with the account named person to do this, so we're doing that.

Also I can't get the sim chips out or open my cases, my fingers just go splot. I hope they have tools?

Still been playing Dressmaker. Been making...dresses.

I forget if I showed this second one already. I've titled them stupidly, you see. My new annoyance is the pattern parts do not tell you hem from waist line, which...I feel they should when they're fucking rectangles and you're trying to use a gradient color. I had to recut the gradient panels like a bunch until I got it right.

My son just showed me this game! He is having a blast with it, he was showing off dresses he made, and he was so proud. I hope it brings you lots of joy!

It's delightful! It has some issues, but for a 15 dollar game, amazing! Love it!

A lot of times now the phones have programmable sims built in so you don't have to deal with that. Those are pretty!

My old phone absolutely does not have an esim, of that I'm...almost certain. It was a card thing they popped in last time. Last time being uhhhhh 2020 or so. Maybe they'll give us an esim this time? I try and use my phones until they die, and with my poor memory, that's a long time!

2020 was yesterday though, right...?

I'm re-listening to a two-parter on one of my favorite podcasts about the newsboy strike that inspired Newsies. It's such a fun listen.

I'm stuck on a super unemployed deep dive into Gypsy Rose Blanchard. I think she had something to do with her ex boyfriend's recent death because he wanted custody of their daughter.
