Hello everyone! Starting in the next release, the Bitwarden apps published to the various stores will be the commercially licensed builds. No action is needed, and the apps will work exactly as they do today. You can still fork Bitwarden
No change to self-hosting, the licensing change affects those who are repackaging and reselling Bitwarden
The free plan is here to stay permanently

Keepass + syncthing does the job, but it is more overhead.

If you opt to move vendors instead, miss 1password. They just tossed 300k dollars to racist/fascist DHH.

bitwarden was my first but I chose it as better than 1password and its ilk mainly because of the gpl.

I think the server side of things should be ok, it is the app you use to access the server that is in question. I suppose if you only use the web vault you wouldn't even know.
