Damn, it's been almost 25 years (and going to be 30 years since HL1 soon).

I am wondering, how did I watch the video back in the day?

I remember this was one of the first prerelease videos of the game where the game disappointed me. HL2 was good, but there are elements in this video that the game didn't live up to.

The last video that crushed my hype was only a couple years later with Spore. After spore was released I've never cared for prerelease videos for video games.

Like what? In jumping through the video, it seems like everything thing appeared in the game the same or better. The only real discrepancy I see is them showing off the intelligence of the AI since you can pretty much always just shoot them and see none of it.

Imo hl2 exceeded this in virtually every way

Mr. Smartass "This will run on my '486?" is memorialized forever.

Fuck yeah!

Anyone remember playing Half-Life: Uplink as a kid as well, then forgetting it existed 'till decades later?

Gaming used to be so fucking cool. Not even just nostalgia, people were taking risks with the tech.

Shout out to Ross Scott and Ross's Game Dungeon btw. Subscribe to him right now or I'll murder you in Sven Co-op. Yes that is a threat.
