I just can't stand the whole area. The weather sucks, it's like being on Mars, everything is tacky tasteless, and everyone is so transparent even though they don't think they are. Oh, and you forget how blue the sky can be because the haze of dust is always there.

If anyone is.considering going for work because it pays well, go visit first and you'll realise why it's paying well, but still probably decide that's not enough. Shithole of a place.

I sometimes kick myself for not taking those offers when they were available to me. It was usually Dubai then Riyadh but I always preferred to work from Lebanon for less money and just get flown in when I’m needed. But over a few years it adds up and my original goal of moving westward seems more difficult now especially with the anti immigration sentiments really picking up in places I’d think of moving to (US/Canada/UK/France/Ireland + a rotating sporadic cast of options)
