‘We cannot accept foxes as part of our landscape’: the plan to save Australia’s threatened wildlife
18 hours ago by Orwi to c/australia
...if you don’t see your native wildlife because it’s all been eaten by foxes...
I'm already starting to see this. Not long ago I'd see 5 possums on an average night walk. Now I'm lucky to see one, and I keep finding tufts of possum fur scattered around the place. The foxes are very good at making an exit as soon as their reflective eyes light up.
It's unfortunate that in suburbia that we can't just go out with an IR-scoped bolt-action rifle at night.
I guarantee foxes can breed faster than you can keep up your masturbatory Jeeves & Wooster meets Splinter Cell fantasy.
It always surprises me the number of foxes living in suburban areas.
I have never seen one walking around. But have seen plenty of road kills in suburbs.
Years ago I lived semi rural and a couple of foxes would regularly visit our chooks trying to get in to their cage. Our dogs eventually got them.
Counterpoint: no they don’t.
