Judge orders the Trump administration to cancel taxpayer-funded promotional TV ads

A federal judge has ordered President Donald Trump to cancel any remaining television commercials paid for with millions of dollars in taxpayer money to promote his political message.

Donald Trump must cancel any remaining television commercials paid for with millions of dollars in taxpayer money to promote his political message, a federal judge ordered Sunday night, even as the administration said the ad campaign was coming to an end.

U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Rochon in New York sided with a coalition, including the nonpartisan watchdog Common Cause, that challenged the ads and called them an illegal misuse of funds. She told the administration to cancel any remaining ads, including any set to air Sunday night, in granting a temporary restraining order.

“Defendants shall not enter into, renew, or expand any agreement authorizing the development, creation, dissemination, placement, or airing of the challenged advertisements” during the two-week duration of her order, the judge said.

He should also be made to reimburse the government for all funds used for that purpose.

If the punishment is the same cost as doing it "legally" in the first place, there's no reason not to crime.

They should but they can't and won't because they already ruled that the President has no accountability.

The people in the admin who helped should get fired and charged for making campaign videos on taxpayer salaries

Like it matters what a judge orders. Supreme Court already anointed him a king. They abandoned any authority and non-partisanship since Citizen United at least. Three of the sitting justices today lied to the Senate about Roe v Wade. The judicial branch is broken. As is Congress because none or very few of them seem to have a spine.

I’ll be surprised if there’s not another civil war or revolution of some kind within the next 3 decades.

The biggest betrayal perhaps, wasn't even't recognized as such, when they forbid nationwide injunctions from lower court judges. I don't have the wherewithal to explain why that is a HUGE deal, but it is.

Bet that he has no intention to. He flaunts this shit because he knows no judge can or will touch him.

But did not order the reimbursement of the monies spent until now.

Not ok, not enough. But the higher courts will allow this shit at some point anyway, because those judges were chosen to side with the traitors over the US Constitution. That is where we are at.

The courts are ultimately a dead end.
