Uh oh ..... We in deep shit ... Deep Shit Nine
If you actually talk to them, you’ll see It’s pronounced Bri’ish. They’ve been hiding their T since that unfortunate incident in Boston Harbor.
No, Bri'ish, did you not see what they wrote?
I regularly drive my horseless carriage to see moving pictures, whenever I receive a coupon via electric mail.
This is how we would talk if English were more like German. Why invent new words when we can just combine old ones? Glove = hand shoe, turtle = shield toad, raccoon = wash bear, etc.
This is why German words have ten syllables?
Yeah, pretty much, they just mash a bunch of words together.
Lol, these are great. I want more.
One interesting one is porcupine = spine pig. The English word means the same thing, but latin-based stead of germanic.
The last time I argued this with an American, they correctly claimed that they defeated us in combat and claimed our language as their own, so it's kinda theirs now. There's no valid argument against it, so I had to concede defeat.
Their independent part of it is theirs, and the metropolitan isn't, just like with territory. That's the way said analogy would work.
And well we should. Honestly, a “torch?” For the electric light that you could easily flash on and off if you wanted or wave around to flash in someone’s eyes?
WHERE IS THE FIRE, NIGEL?!?!? THERE’S NO FIRE!
I can hear René Auberjonois in that line
crosses arms while staring seductively

There! Are! Four! Flashing! Lights!
You're all misunderstanding the etymology. It's called a flashlight because it was named after its inventor, Barry Allen.
thanks for using Leebra!
