Radio messages to Hamilton were needed to "calm things down" - Wolff · RaceFans

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff explained why he took the unusual step of speaking to Lewis Hamilton twice on the radio.

I don't think I've ever heard Wolff snapping at HAM like that before.

ridiculous that a team principal needs to even say that

The DTS producers are probably already creating a full episode out of that one radio message.

Que Will Buxton:

There are times * dramatic pause * where a team principal just has to put his foot down....

I really hoped the DTS producers were going to play up the Red Bull issues at the end of last season which played out over Instagram and into the next race but they didn’t. It was disappointing.

Toto coming on the radio saying "We know the car is bad, just drive it" was hilarious. Hamilton was so salty about the early penalty. Meanwhile Verstappen, Leclerc, and Nando got along just fine keeping the cars on track.

There was an interview with the French TV post race and I was surprised too by his tone. He mentioned that the car was « nowhere » and that they expected to be bad in slow corners but that the recent progress everywhere else would make up for it
