When you can't comprehend that jury nullification is a by product of our judicial system. It can be used for bad or good - see lynchings of the jim crow era vs those helping slaves escape.

This prick is the embodiment of the fascist belief that the law has in groups that it does not bind but protects and our groups that bind but do not protect.

She said the quiet part out loud with regards to universal healthcare - it makes it too easier for us plebs to change jobs.

Tying healthcare to a job takes away leverage and negotiating power from the employee.

After Gamer Nexus did their excellent piece on Asus and their frustrating RMA process I am wary of hardware from Asus, but beggars can't be choosers.

Especially after Micron's decision to pull from the consumer RAM market. We need companies to step up to the plate.

While this is nice, I do hope they consider making it easier to remove and install a new battery for the next iteration of the steam deck.

To clarify, I mean something similar to phones where the backplate can slide off or preferably a panel, secured by a screw, when removed allows direct access to the battery and allows it to be easily swapped out - similar to many kids toys.

I love that Microsoft has Microsoft developed applications on its update/upgrade block list.

It's a good reminder that companies arent as cohesive as most people think especially when they are as large as Microsoft.

The development cycle is very iterative, and incredibly time consuming, which is why games are now taking six and seven years to build, as they've gotten bigger and deeper," said Wilson, "So the first thing for us is how do we make that more efficient?"

I dunno maybe take a page from indie developers and make fun games that are innovative?

I'll take quality over quantity every time.

Gov. Cox is a complete hypocrite.

He vetoed a bill that banned trans kids from participating in sports of their identified gender saying he errs on the side of compassion (https://www.sltrib.com/...), but more recently signed a bill banning transitioning care for trans kids (https://www.nytimes.com/...).

Cox you and those who voted for these bills are not just an embarrassment to the state but actively supporting this type of mindset and behavior with this legislation!

Avid Amoeba is right that Google ruined their own search before LLMs entered the public consciousness (this does not mean LLMs didn't exist before this, but that they were not widely available for the general public to use or became part of the zeitgeist).

If you don't agree please listen to the Better Offline podcast episode "The Man That Destroyed Google Search". The episode goes through the rollbacks/changes Google made to their search Algorithm well before AI was commonplace.

Asked directly why he cut off his father’s head, Mohn told the judge he wanted to send a message: “I knew something such as a severed head would not only go viral but could lessen the violence.”

Dude is literally trying to play off CUTTING HIS OWN DAD'S HEAD OFF as a DEESCALATION of violence...

Maybe in his twisted logic it works something like, "If you resist not only will you be murdered, but I will be even more brutal and painful".

So i guess if the choice is being kidnapped (and who knows what the hell else) and a decapitation I guess the first option is less violent... Maybe?

I dunno, but I do need to take a shower after reading* that article 🤢.

That's how all the politicians and authority figures have been acting. It's because in reality, he doesn't control his gang (the MPD).

His gang supports this shit but he's the public face of the gang and has to act like they aren't loving all of this. Mind you this is the same police force that kicked of BLM because of murdering a civilian.

They don't give a shit about human life and this is just fucking theater.

Edit: added some punctuation and fixed a typo to improve the sentence structure.

"Killing in the Name" by Rage Against The Machine is unfortunately as relevant today as when it was written if not more so.

Edit: updated to have the actual name of the song

These measures align with Putin’s push for “traditional values” amid population decline

Hear me out Putin, but what if you didn't toss everyone who can fog a mirror into your meat grinder of a war? No? Wait why do you want me to stand near the window?

This is some dumb pearl clutching bullshit.

With this asinine logic, buying apples are condoning evil because their seeds contain cyanide and though there are more effective ways to create cyanide at commercial scale than buying apples and extracting the small amount of cyanide from the seeds it's still a question of moral principle i.e not condoning evil.

I have to correct you on your last point. It's only because he gives away things to poor people and not just rich people that makes him a filthy socialist.

If Santa was handing out tax breaks and children to the elite, they'd put him in the Whitehouse instead of trump.

If the fixes keep coming I might just get back into TF2. I first played it and got hooked through The Orange Box on the PS3 and then eventually on PC when i got a gaming laptop years later.

You make the damn laws! Could you make it any more obvious you are beholden to your corporate overlords?!

A strongly written letter ASKING these profit driven companies to stop doing something that increases profit?!

This is the laziest attempt to appear as though these senators are doing something and care. In reality they don't want their money spigot turned off when elections roll around so no real action will be taken.

Maybe you should actually do your jobs and pass right-to-repair and data privacy legislation with the best interest of your constituents in mind?

You don't ask the robber barons to do something. You drag their ass to the table while they kick and scream all the way.
