This is hilarious because when my Dad was alive, a long pause like that usually meant he completely agreed but felt like a father shouldn't say that.

This hurt my feelings but that's just because of all the trauma.

For anyone reading this who went through some stuff, the fear instinct that you get when you remember the past has a silver lining, in that it can often buy you a second to figure out how you want to respond.

You're loved, you're needed in this world, and I hope that you will get to a place where you don't have to be afraid anymore.

(If you get the chance, I always recommend moving to another state/country. Get space from your abusers if you can.)

And feel free to send me a message if you need to talk. I might not respond right away.

You can use this to blame cat people, but this is just a class of people obsessed with buttholes and poo. I'm remembering a post a while back where someone had made a little dog bun, and if you pressed down on it, chocolate came out of it's butthole. Nasty.

Edit: Pic is the first thing I got off google typing in 'dog bun you press that has chocolate come out.' Obviously this wasn't the same thing I was talking about but I refuse to search further.

We don't know how long they've been together.

I would not want my first meeting with someone's mother to be on their deathbed. And as a grown woman, I wouldn't want my son's new piece of ass at my deathbed, either.

I do not possess a dick but this post made me rock hard. Like, mentally. Gave me a raging brainer.

I like both, I just want them to match! Why is this so difficult?

I'd argue it wasn't defederated because of one user, it was defederating because of a fundamental disagreement in moderation policies.

The one user could've been saying anything people could find deplorable. It was that the admin chose to be hands-off about it that pulled the trigger.

Which is a good thing, in that servers are allowed to decide how they want to handle moderation, and other server owners are allowed to decide if they accept that, or if they expect the moderation will lead to continued problems of the same vein down the road. The fediverse working as intended.

I feel like this community serves a great purpose. And I'm a massive fan of drinking my tea and reading all the drama it attracts. But I am just beyond tired of the same handful of commenters popping up to always agree with whoever is opposed to blahaj.

I give this one a YDI. Anybody posting anything transphobic who gets caught by Ada is gonna be banned. Any instance with a mod or admin who makes transphobic posts or comments will get defederated. No one is entitled to having their content served on Ada's servers, and the people who join blahaj know that, and seem to appreciate it.

Which is sort of why I always wind up agreeing with her. Her server has clear, concise beliefs, and clear, concise administration, and she has the clear-throated consent of her governed or they would leave.

The only server whose vibe I appreciate more is divide by zero. Shout-out to what I feel is the most neurospicy, nonconformist bunch of pirates I ever met.

There's misplaced, lost, and I put it somewhere safe.

The last one is the most dangerous and you'll never see it again.

There are over 1,000 pokemon. I think it's a Tolkien situation- where famously, you can't write fantasy without using ingredients that Tolkien created, because if you do, obviously it's from Tolkien, and if you didn't, the reader is asking why not? That kinda deal.

If you set out to create a game involving collecting, or even looking at and cataloguing, a bunch of different fantasy creatures, you're going to have some that are at least a little similar to pokemon. The electibuzz/grizzbolt example you gave is a fantastic one. You're claiming it's stolen, but that there is a cat creature with a single lightning bolt in it's belly. Versus a... monkeything? Covered in them. My point here being, even if they didn't steal (which, I'm sure they did, there are other, better examples) at a certain point you have to accept that with 1,000 pokemon, there's going to be overlap, so you either need to just be up front about the stealing, or you need to spend 5x the amount of development time making sure none of your creatures have overlap.

Personally, Pokemon has been around for more than 25 years. Even if they released a million games a year, they shouldn't get to gatekeep 'all creature-collection simulators that you use balls for and that you can ride like a dragon.' Fuck that. They got infinite money back on their initial investment, and they shouldn't be allowed to just own the ideas. This is the kind of bullshit that makes me (a lifelong pokemon fan) want to never, ever, ever give them money again.

I once said to an employee, "Have a peaceful rest of your shift!" And he said, "You, too," and I didn't turn away fast enough and I watched his soul leave his body.

Considering that all these models are trained on stolen content, no one should be surprised if this were true.

I am so excited to tell you this.

When Tucker Carlson (right-wing shithead) was hosting a show called 'Crossfire,' and still wearing a stupid bow tie, he made the mistake of agreeing to have Jon Stewart on his show. Here's a link to the wikipedia page. There is a whole page for this one incident.

Here is a line that might appeal: "Three months after the appearance, Crossfire was cancelled and Carlson was fired; commentators differ as to how impactful it actually was, but generally agree that Stewart was at least part of the reason."

And one thing is for sure, Tucker Carlson may have kept his incredibly stupid "man just asking questions" expression... but he stopped wearing that stupid bow tie.

I went ahead and got you all a link to the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire.

Which was a rather famous fire that killed so many people, because the stairwells were locked.

Please remember that OSHA rules are written in blood.
