FWIW I'm not American, but in Norway we use liberal policy towards this, and have no homeless crisis. Not either of your two types. We recognise people need help, and help them.

It also massively depends on the incision type, how they're inserted, over vs under muscle, size compared to your natural tissues. Some forms carry more risk than others.

I couldn't disagree more with this sentiment. I hate this doomer attitude. This sounds cliché but hope is really so powerful, and I truly believe they're trying to take that away from us.

That said, I'm not stupid, I see the world and I know the potential for a lot of bad is on our horizon. And some, like climate change, is locked in. But the rest isn't.

That doesn't mean world war, or the collapse of society, and I'll keep pushing back against that as long as I can. There's a lot of bad but there's still a lot of good.
