In the US, you're only allowed to import quite old kei vehicles. I think they need to be over 20 years old

Judges face a lot more active threats from people who have gotten out of prison. For most of us, being easily found is an advantage. For judges it's life-threatening

The odds for most people if being swatted are really really low. The odds of somebody you know wanting to mysteriously drop off cupcakes are many orders of magnitude higher.

Judges tend to be very protective of info like home address, and for good reason. Data brokers and background checks tend to expose it.

It was inoculation, which used live smallpox virus, and predated vaccination. George Washington required it, as it was far less likely to kill you than getting infected with smallpox naturally. And yes, it was one of the reasons the American Revolution succeeded.

Just the ordinary property tax right now I think

You can get industrial heat pumps which put out 200°C now. Resistive above that.

And yes, we need a large electrical system build-out. Which is happening anyways for AI. Just with fossil fuels behind it instead of wind and solar.

The alternative to shifting off of fossil fuels is a seriously degraded world

Primary is a terrible way to look at things when most of the energy in fossil fuels is wasted as heat, but it isn't wasted for renewables. You end up seeing almost no shift when large changes are happening

The published design from Social Circle had a shooting range next to the cages for people, not a gas chamber.

But the fossil fuels industry can rake in profits in the meantime

The renewables energy industry tends to be really good for consumers but not so great at producing the kind of concentrated wealth that enables bribery

They're doing it because Musk put the polluting turbines in a mostly black neighborhood, so that's who suffers the most from them.

Yes, but not by enough to matter. It'll still take more than 60% of the votes going for Democrats to change who holds power. Gerrymandering has gotten really effective, and the peolle drawing the maps know in advance which way most households are inclined to vote.

We're actually fairly sure it works; the big issue is that it will redistribute who gets rainfall.

Yes. And because of how long CO2 concentration remains elevated, it needs to be continued for longer than civilizations last.

Mostly that takes policy. Individual action only gets us little ways if not everybody is doing it. Kind of like you can reduce traffic by not driving, but unless policy and infrastructure causes a lot of people to do that, almost everybody spends a lot of time stuck in traffic

Pretty much. It's a total failure for US military power.

Lol. Going all-in on fossil fuels at the exact moment that the rest of the world other than the US decided that they're not worth the security risks and pollution. It's a way to end up as an impoverished backwater, especially if the public pays for all the pipelines and export terminals
