Trump exhibits zero-sum thinking- if someone else is getting something, that means he is losing something. Thus if Carter is getting respect, Trump thinks he is losing respect.
Ironically, I lost respect for him because he lacks empathy, but we are the minority apparently.
Deplorable.
Constantly proving what a massive piece of old fat shit he is and somehow people either don't care, make excuses for him or just don't see it.
I'm flying the flag at half staff for the next four years.
Such a baby.
What do you call Trump's dick at half mast?

The flag code is decorum and anyone who thought Trump had any is insane.
This is not part of flag code. Federal orders only apply to federal flags, like federal buildings and military bases. As noted in the article, Florida has ordered a corresponding period for state properly. But Mar-a-lago is entirely private property. We already know Trump is a piece of shit, we don't need to give him more airtime.
I agree with your stance, but I also think its important this stuff is committed to the public record, just so historians can be fully assured of his personality and that the people of the time did notice and scathe it too.
I tend to agree. It's disrespectful, but Trump doesn't have a single respectful bone in his body. It's another example of him being shitty or incompetent, but not much more than a headline.
His advisors are salivating at their ideas on how to rip the country apart and turn it into some Christian nationalist hellhole further controlled by oligarchs. I really could give two shits about the flag.
Not recording history risks repeating previous mistakes a lot more than recording it. And you record as much as possible because you have no idea what might be important in the future or why. Even something as trivial as this.
I wish I could remember where it was, but I recall a website that just kept track of the day to day highlights of every absurd thing he did. My Google fu is failing me now, but I definitely agree it should be part of his permanent record.
I think what frustrates me is he does these little stunts where he jingles his keys with his left hand and we all stare (myself included), while he has dozens of other terrible things cooking.
The left is doing it too right now. "Well we should have / could have prosecuted him, but we didn't. Anyways, here is a list of crimes he'll never be punished for".
Again, I'm not disagreeing with you at all, I'm just tired already, and I want off this ride.

If Trump was anywhere close to as strong and admirable as he claims to believe himself to be, he'd freely offer respect and honor to Carter, secure in the knowledge he had plenty to spare.
But instead he's a pathetic, weak, frightened child, terrified at the thought that someone else might get some respect when he so desperately needs it himself.
