Your highest courts have been stacked in favor of your dictator for some time. Revolt. Loudly and aggressively.

Just keep on holding presidents in contempt until you get someone rational. I think the first stop for that is Rubio.

This is not the first time that the Executive branch has ignored Supreme Court orders. See Worcester v. Georgia and the dispute between Chief Justice Roger Taney and General Cadwalader.

The problem is that the Executive branch is (theoretically) supposed to uphold the decisions of the Judicial branch, but irl, enforcement of those decisions is easier said than done when the Executive branch disagrees.

It wouldn't have changed their actions, but it would have rid them of any plausible deniability that they had committed contempt of the Supreme Court in doing so. It would have made the constitutional crisis that we ARE in undeniable, and even the idiots at Fox News couldn't pretend that the administration followed the order by "allowing" his return if El Salvador just so happened to send him back. As it is now, you will have many MAGA believing that the administration is in compliance with the court's orders and did nothing wrong. They would have at least had to face the truth if there was no wiggle room, and maybe some would actually acknowledge that the administration is in the wrong about this one thing at least.

I don't think it's impossible to make the situation better. I think he's dismantling the rule of law. For the entirety of the post industrial revolution era, we've been governed by words written down, but that was not the case of most of history. Before that, might governed. If you could do something and nobody could physically stop you, then you got your was. Trump is trying to take us back to that.

I think it is more that the supreme court is looking to collect more than one solid case where it is obvious the president isn't listening. Because if they pull the trigger and explicitly order him to do something that he isn't going to do, that will be the turning point. And at that point they only have to real ways to win. One is congressional impeachment, which is their best case outcome. The other is they order him held in contempt and order the marshals to enforce it. It's not obvious who's order the marshals will follow. But if they choose the president, then the supreme court has to deputize a force strong enough to arrest the president. And the pres will likely order the military to defend him, and arrest the supreme court. That will likely cause a split in the military between those who will follow that order and those who won't because it's the supreme court. And that leads to civil war. So they want to have overwhelming cases and such to persuade congress to act. And trumps popularity is dropping. So is his support even in his own party. So time is on the supreme courts side right now. They don't want to pull the trigger until they are sure they will win.

Every time HitlerPig replaces a competent leader, military or otherwise, with an ignorant loyalist, the opposition gains strength.

If SCOTUS has to round up a military force, they have a deep bench of extremely competent and accomplished military leaders to draw from, who will be going up against drunken MAGA Nazi morons like Hegseth.

These are leaders who have previously earned the respect of their troops, and given the choice of following true, patriotic military leaders, or MAGA Nazi dickheads, most are going to choose to follow those they respect, and respect them in return.

Be careful what you wish for. No matter how he goes, they'll blame his death on "the left" and martyr him. It could actually make things much worse.

Disagree. I would rather have a dead martyr, than a live Traitor. At least the dead martyr can't directly cause any damage.

Besides, MAGA is a cult of personality. They will never give their full loyalty to anyone else. Once HitlerPig assumes room temperature, it is the beginning of the end for MAGA. Their peak influence will be behind them, and they will lose at least 50% of their power instantly, and then steadily slide into obscurity.
