A public office should not be promoting a private enterprise. That's not what tax dollars are for. Musk can pay for marketing and advertising like the rest of his competitors do.

Hopefully other nations see this cronyism and tell the US administration to stuff it.

Unfortunately that’s par for the course for any nation in capitalism. Of course it takes on special meaning given Musk’s involvement with the US administration but every capitalist nation promotes its major businesses abroad one way or another.

If Starlink was being considered as an option for a government project then I would have less of an issue.

Instead, the government is promoting and figuring out how to use Starlink. The sad part is that they are using it instead of a fiber connection.
