well I mean to be fair you really shouldn't go into it expecting much, if anything, considering the material it's based off.
a Mortal Kombat style tournament with various vehicles where if you win you get one wish granted that WILL, without fail, bite you in the ass.
I will never understand how Anthony Mackie has been deemed lead role worthy. He's been an absolute charisma void in everything I've seen him in except for maybe The Hurt Locker, where his wooden acting actually works for the character he's playing.
I will never forgive Mackie for season 2 of Altered Carbon. I mean it wasn't completely his fault that the season sucked, but it was a lot his fault. Keeping Joel Kinnaman would have been a gigantic improvement!
I watched the first season and i kinda binged it. I mainly watched it because me and my friend juat talked about twisted metal. I think the main draw for me was that i was wondering how they made a show out of this game. I watched the whole season, i couldn't tell if i liked it. I didn't hate it, because i watched it. Like you said, i had no idea how to feel about it. I also have no desire to watch more
Similar feel to z nation.
True.

This thing is already into a third season??
dint even realize twisted metal had a tv series.

The tone on this show is so fucking weird to me. Like, the jokes are usually pretty juvenile, but then they try to shove in occasional emotional beats, and Anthony Mackie hasn't got the talent to pull either of those things off very well. So I just sit there watching explosions and edgelord murder jokes and poignant, glassy-eyed stares between characters, wondering how I'm supposed to feel about it all.
