Finished my set of patio furniture!

a day ago by LordGennai to c/woodworking

Hello! I recently got into woodworking and built this sectional set over the past few months!

I bought the plans from Shara Woodshop Diaries. They were very well done and easy to follow.

The sectional and chaise obviously took the longest. It had a couple of tricky glue jobs but I think it turned out alright.

The coffee table and side table I started and finished over the last two days. I took my time and think I did better than on the sectional.

This is all pressure treated wood. I will stain it sometime but haven’t picked a stain yet. Figured it needs time to dry out anyways.

Anyways, this is my first post here - figured I’d share!

It looks good. Where did you get the cushions and how much did they cost?

Aside:

Buying plans usually isn’t necessary. Between Libby magazine rack (free fine woodworking, wood, etc, going back 2yrs), the hard copy book side of the library (always different inventory than digital), the Internet archives, Kreg, and Ana White (which is where I thought you pulled this pattern at first glance…a lot of YT creators appear to use AW stuff), you don’t need to buy plans. Ofc, if you like a YT-er and want to pay them, there is that.

Thanks!

The cushions are from Home Depot. These ones I believe.

And yeah, I haven’t thought much about plans at the library but I have found some good free plans too. Personally, I like Shara’s videos and the plans aren’t too expensive (I think like $10 for 3 plans?).

A friend of mine made a bench from Ana White’s plans and it turned out great too!

That looks fantastic! I'll have to look at what other plans Shara has.

I built a patio set out of cedar a few years back and while the wood has held up beautifully, the unsupported span on the sofa is just tool long for the dimensions of the wood and it flexes more than I would like - it's got me itching to build something new!

Thanks!

The long sofa part of this has a middle support which was pretty interesting to build I thought.

I want to use cedar but I’m cheap and didn’t want to screw up and waste nicer wood 😅

This looks amazing, I'm sure if it's properly taken care of this will last for decades! It's really something you should feel proud of.
