Do you prefer cooking at home or ordering takeaway?

Cooking at home. Takeout is way too expensive. A single takeout order is like 3 days of food for me by myself. Trying to feed a family of 5 is almost as much as doing a couple days of grocery shopping. I still love my Chinese and Cheesesteaks but that's few and far between these days.

Like many people here, takeout is too expensive. Its very hard to justify $10-40 per person with our finances. Plus I'm a pretty good cook, I do a lot of things better than I'd get from takeout, so I really need to be craving something specific for it to be worth it.

If I want to eat outside food I want to eat outside too. So cook at home, eat outside. Don't take outside food home.

I loathe cooking. But approaching 40 means my body can't handle most of the crap served places anymore. Also, I can't afford shit so, ugh I'll cook I guess.

Cooking at home for sure. It just became extremely hard due to my health, and now I end up ordering out because otherwise I eat next to nothing.

Ever since my first wife taught me how to cook, I have been able to make myself meals that are better than most of the takeout around here. Her meals are still better, but I don't feel so useless in the kitchen anymore. šŸ’•

I prefer cooking at home, especially when she's around. I haven't been able to beat the quality of her favorite Korean restaurant. :)

I prefer ordering. I don't enjoy cooking for myself, feels like im wasting my limited free time, i hate doing the many dishes and honestly im not a great cook so the quality ranges from ok to straight up bad.

However, ordering food is much more expensive and less healthy. And delivery food companies suck if im going that route, and even then im in a high rise apartment and have to meet them at the entrance as its locked. I also don't own a car so my options are limited. So i mosyt cook for myself

We rarely eat out anymore. I really like the things that we make at home. We tend to make a large amount of something, then work at it for 3-5 days. Most of it is decently healthy too.

I used to be a a head chef. It's hard to justify eating out when I can make almost anything fairly easy, cheaper, and have leftovers.

The only things I still order out are ethnic foods I don't have a lot of practice with or take special preparation, ingredients or equipment to make. Tandoori naan with good indian and injera are my weaknesses.

Depends, do I wanna cook that day, and if there’s a place with good enough food to justify it

I love both tbh. Most days I view cooking as my hobby and I'm excited to whip up a good meal for everyone to enjoy together. Every once in a while, I adore getting take out from my favorite local spots and reveling in having someone else cook for me.
