This exists, though I don't think it's available in the US.

I vaguely recall talk of safety standards or something, but that might have just been propaganda, no idea.
Edit: according to that page they are, in fact, available in the US
Yea safety generally is pretty abysmal in these cars (technically quadracycles or something similar here in Europe). Kei cars/trucks is something different, they’re quite a bit bigger than this and they’re closer (in construction and design) to normal cars, quadracycles (in Europe) generally use industrial engines like those found on ride-on lawnmowers and a cvt/torque converter like those on scooters. But this doesn’t matter as my comment were about people being real about their needs.
yup
In no way could I fit the tools I use daily in this, no way I could fit the extra stuff I need for a new job in it. No way I could use this for a trip, I could barely fit basic camping supplies in it. This would be great if I only needed to go 20 miles around me, and not really carry anything. But yes, is mostly useless.
You get the upvote for "Mach fuck"
I hope it putters jouncily along, like the Richard Scarry work truck it is. 🥰
(I wonder if a mascot costume'd fit on the driver while in the cab, though. Hmm.)
Sorry about that. Does this work? It's the book listing on Penguin Randomhouse's store page. 🤞🏼 (Richard Scarry's "Busy Busy Cars and Trucks")
theres a 4 wheel config
I wanted to learn more about this little guy, and found this amazing fact (emphasis mine):
LAWIL was Italy’s primary Microcar made in the 1970s. The LAWIL sold better in France where it was called the Willam. [...] This car was popular in France because it could be driven by people who did not have a driver’s license. [...] Top speed: 45mph.

If people were realistic about their needs (and the auto industry actually listened) they would be driving something like this instead of the Micro-Penis F3500 CurbStomper.
