New grads say employers set the bar too high for entry-level roles: 'No job is willing to give you that first experience'

This has been said for as long as I've been alive.

While true, AI is making it worse, as it's corporately acceptable at the entry level tasks. I don't envy the graduating class, it's like graduating during a recession.

LLMs are making it feel like there is a recession, and that’s without accounting for the fact that we’re staring a bubble-pop, a rather tectonic geopolitical trade shift, and an almost-certain economic recession (or even depression) in the face.

Pretty sure that if you don't count the magical investment circle jerk of AI we are in a recession.

That’s more or less exactly what I mean. Everything has a “house of cards” feel to it these days

And they are at their limit. There will be no more performance. Eventually people will recognize their limits.

There's a recession for everyone except for a handful of tech companies and their investors already happening.

Yes, it has been true since the late 80s/early 90s. It is getting worse, though, as there really are no entry level roles anymore.

This sort of disconnection from reality is just what you expect from the MBA class.

Why would they? What's in it for them?

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.

Our Philosophies:

  • All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
  • Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
  • Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
  • We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.

Our Goals

  • Higher wages for underpaid workers.
  • Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
  • Better and fewer working hours.
  • Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
  • Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
